Retutning to the music of Boku no Hero Academia, we have the 2nd ending of the third season, Long Hope Philia. Wasn’t too big on it initially, but it grew on me over time and now I’ve just gotta translate it. Continue reading “Long Hope Philia lyrics and translation”

MAN WITH A MISSION – My Hero
MAN WITH A MISSION graces this blog for the first time with the theme to the anime Inuyashiki, which I haven’t seen. I have listened to this song more times than any sane human reasonably should though, so maybe that counts for something. Continue reading “My Hero lyrics and translation”

Those special words that you once told me
Suddenly knock on the door to my heart
I’ve got no time to look back, I’m being chased
I’d forgotten the scenery
But now, I can remember your voice
It’s all right, let’s begin
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Let’s walk together
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Don’t be scared
Look, the spot just over the hill
It’s waiting for me
No matter how harsh things get, those words of yours
Will become hope as I make my way along the ocean
When I’m petrified by the darkness right before my eyes
You give me your light
And when you feel so completely alone
It’s all right, I’m right by your side
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Let’s walk together
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Don’t be scared
Look, the spot just over the hill
Let’s go look together
When I’m confused by uncertain answers
You whisper in a quiet voice
A voice that you and I can both hear
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Let’s walk together
IT’S THE RIGHT TIME
Don’t be scared
Look, the spot just over the hill
It’s waiting there for us
Look, the spot just over the hill
I’ll always be with you
Daichi Miura’s work now graces this blog with IT’S THE RIGHT TIME, the ending song from Parasyte -the maxim-. Never seen the show, but knowing what I know about it, this is certainly an odd choice for an ending theme.
Translation’s pretty simplistic, with the song basically just being a love song. As usual, I compared this with somebody else’s translation, this time being the one Lyrical Nonsense did. They do a lot of transcriptions and translations of Japanese music, and I use them mostly for actually learning the lyrics to some songs.
On the actual song itself, I love it. I’m a pretty new Daichi fan (mostly thanks to his work on Kamen Rider Ex-Aid’s music) but he’s quickly become one of my favorite artists. And this is among one of my favorites. I’m already kind of a sucker for generic love ballads, but throw Daichi in there and it’s a definite gem. If you only know Daichi’s Ex-Aid work or even none of it at all, I’d really suggest giving this and the rest of discography a listen.

WHITE OUT
Despite the SOS…
You have to keep on living
I will welcome you
Holding a bouquet in my hands
WHITE OUT
Beyond any kind of pain
If there exists a dazzling place
Hello… Let me hear your voice
Strike the door that refuses to open
Hello… At the frozen planet’s end
Two people come together at last
A never-ending journey…
Connects interrupted dreams
WHITE OUT
Above any kind of storm
Will the blue sky last for today?
Hello… Raise your voice
Hello… At the frozen planet’s end
Two people come together at last
I will welcome you…
First anime song on the blog comes from Godzilla: Kaiju Wakusei, which just came out not too long ago. Really looking forward to seeing it, but Netflix has decided I have to wait until 2018. Fun times.
Anyway, about the song. Yet another one I had to do without something compare it to, this one I think comes off a bit odd. It’s one of those songs that doesn’t really mean anything and just kinda tries to sound flowery. That said, I still like it a lot, it’s just kinda hard to get a decent, cohesive translation when the lyrics just kinda say things to sound fancy.
It’s also kind of a weird choice of song for a Godzilla movie, if you ask me. I figured the theme would be some hard rock number something, but it’s this slow, pop thing. Once again, I like it, it’s just a weird fit for Godzilla. But hell, I haven’t seen the movie so maybe it’ll make more sense once I do.
Anyway, that’s enough BS from me. Gonna try to get some more stuff up on a more regular basis, been slacking recently. There are a few more vocal songs by the same artist on the single for WHITE OUT, so maybe I’ll do those at some point.
